50% faster record saves after migrating 300+ Process Builders to Flow
Faster record saves after 300+ Process Builders were rebuilt as record-triggered Flows.
The result
50% faster record saves after 300+ Process Builders were rebuilt as record-triggered Flows.
What was built
A full migration of 300+ legacy Process Builder automations into record-triggered Flows, consolidating redundant automation and removing the performance overhead of running dozens of separate Process Builders on the same object. Most of the project was discovery, not migration: confirming with stakeholders which automations were still doing real work and which were legacy behavior nobody remembered the reason for. The output was a fully scoped technical plan that doubled as documentation the client's business and technology teams could use going forward, reducing the information silos the original automation sprawl had created.
Situation
The client is a loan origination company whose Salesforce org had accumulated 300+ Process Builders over time, spread across the same core objects.
Timeline
About 3 months, most of it spent on discovery rather than the migration itself.
Migration questions
Should I migrate from Process Builder to Flow?
Yes. Salesforce has retired Process Builder for new automation, and consolidating multiple Process Builders on the same object into fewer record-triggered Flows also improves save performance, the way this migration cut save time in half.
